Tell us about your role and what it involves
As a Clinical Lead, I’m the nursing presence within the business.
I help with assessments, compliance and making sure care plans are accurate from a medical point of view.
I carry out risk assessments for medication, tube feeding, ventilation, moving and handling and more.
I will also be involved in training the staff and deeming them competent in first aid and complex care, as I need to watch them work with a client and be reassured they’re safe and effective in what they’re doing.
I also ensure we’re meeting Care Quality Commission (CQC) and local authority regulations and requirements.
What’s the best thing about your job and why?
The best thing is getting out there and meeting clients, being involved in forming the care they receive and making sure it’s safe and effective.
I love getting to know their families and working closely with them.
Every day is different. From an office point of view, everybody is so friendly and welcoming. I’m a very organised person and I work well with the team.
Why do you love being part of the My Caring team?
I’m interested and excited to see where My Caring is going to go in terms of developing and growing the service, the business and complex care.
I love working with Caitlin, our Acting Registered Manager, because she is dynamic and driven, which is brilliant.
What does #feelthelove mean to you?
It’s about treating people as an individual and looking at their individual needs, thinking outside the box and going the extra mile to make things work.
It’s also about being an advocate for our clients and doing everything we can to ensure they receive the care they need.
We’re involved in contacting other healthcare professionals to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible for the client and we fight for them to take the pressure off their families as much as possible.
Tell us something about yourself which people may not know.
I have a secret talent – I can play the spoons!
